Many kinds of global dynamic models already exist, and they play a central role in guiding global sustainability policy and action. But they have tended to deal seprately with the dynamics of the biophysical Earth and of the social World.
Anthropocene changes present urgent challenges for the world’s societies. This has highlighted a key limitation of current models: social and biophysical dynamics really matter! And we need to be able to analyse their interactions together.
